As I am sure you are aware The Government are working hard to offer every British adult a Covid-19 vaccine. Some vulnerable groups such as the BAME community, or people living with disabilities, may need further support enabling them to understand and confidently access the vaccinations.
Burnley Council has received funding from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to work with community partners on an engagement project that will help residents to understand the important messages around Covid vaccinations. Inoculation is vital to protect individuals and the whole community.
Charter House Resource Centre is proud to say that we are COVID COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS. Through the Community Champions scheme, councils and voluntary organisations will deliver a wide range of measures to protect those most at risk – building trust, communicating accurate health information and ultimately helping to save lives. This will include developing new networks of trusted local champions where they don’t already exist.
Charter House Resource Centre has produced a short film and booklet designed to enable people with limited capacity the ability to understand the facts associated with the covid vaccine. With the help of a fantastic volunteer Scott, who himself has a mild learning difficulty, the film answers many questions about the vaccine and reassures people that much of the fake news, they may have heard, isn’t true.
